the sisterhood of the traveling pants

The movie is adapted from story written by Ann Brashares.. this is the movie where I first fall in love with America Ferrera.. I know.. and you know it.. in reality, Hollywood doesn't really look or even blink with the sight of big fat figure... yet charming and talented actress like her came along.. and you just cannot ignore her forever.. Hollywood today has changed.. I really hope this scenario will improve and grow into positive direction.. hopefully there will be more and more normal and fat people you can watch onscreen.. what I meant, just normal people.. not the skinny dippy type with the size of '0'.. enough with their appearances on magazines all over the world.. normal people with the size of 6 to 14... that's normal y'all..

Let's get back to the story.. the story is about friendship of 4 best friends.. they have been friends for as long as they can remember despite differences among each other.. Ferrera, who plays Carmen is the writer and narrator in the movie.. she is so looking forward to meet her father in North Carolina after a very long time, yet get crushed after found out that her father has new life with a new family and kind of forgot about her.. Lena (who also plays one of the Gilmore Girls) is the quiet one yet still feel insecure and afraid to explore her life especially to fall in love despite everything she has.. she is spending her summer in Greece with her 'pupi' and 'yaya'.. I love the scene in Greece.. it is so beautiful.. definitely one of my dream places to go.. then, there is Bridget, the tall blonde girl who is desperate for attention, always overdo everyhing to show-off people, and yet she is the leader and the caretaker of the group.. she spends summer in Mexico for her soccer training camp.. lastly, Tibby, the rebellious one.. always know what she wants to be and what to do.. and always has this wrong perception of people around her..

For whatever reason, they're all fit into a pair of jean despite different sizes each of everyone has.. since they will be apart during summer.. they'd make this vow to share equally time (1 week) to wear that jean until they'll back together at their hometown.. and they'd really hope that miracle would happen while wearing that jean.. so, the pant travels from Greece to Tibby, she's the only who spend summer without going nowhere to finish her documentary at hometown, Maryland to Carmen in North Carolina and to Bridget in Mexico.. during first round of the traveling pant, there was nothing happen.. but on the second round, there were something meaningful happen which reflect their life afterwards.. or so they thought there were..

I know the story revolves on the teenagers who-sre-still-searching-of-who-they-are character.. but for me, the message hidden beyond all wicked, funny, immature, stupid moments is their friendship.. this is what matter the most.. that pair of jean has nothing to do with what they thought would bring miracle into their life.. for me, it is just so happen that jean can stretch enough and fit them all.. So, to all my fren... for whatever reasons, I do cherish you for coming into my life.. and really hope that you will always be my friend forever and ever.. and without you, I wouldn't be so confident and brave enough to move on with my life after the downfall... for that I thank you..
